SafeWalkTracker's main behavior is completed, but the website is still in development. Basic tests have been performed. It is not live yet and is expected to be used starting the 2026–2027 school year.

WHAT IT SOLVES

Walker Dismissal Logging and Searchable Records

The app's purpose is limited and specific: scan a student ID and log whether the student is a walker or not, based on export data provided by Synergy.

Confirmed Purpose

Walker Status Scan

Authorized employees scan a student's ID barcode and the website shows whether that student is marked as a walker.

  • Purpose: reduce manual paper lists

The website automatically logs scan results with student ID and other data from the Synergy export, plus a timestamp.

How SafeWalkTracker Works

Scan Log
The app logs whether the student is a walker or not, student ID/other data, and timestamp.
Creates searchable evidence of walker dismissal scans.
Reports
Whole history can be filtered and limited to a single day; no dedicated daily list yet.
Supports daily review through filtering; export reporting can be added later if needed.
Admin View
No custom admin dashboard; admin view is Django's admin panel.
Current admin capability is technical/admin-focused, not a custom executive dashboard.
